Waking up to pain.

I was awakened by my dog Dahli this morning around 8:15am, because she wanted a treat. Side note, it's my own fault, I started giving her a milk bone the first thing in the morning. And of course she now expects one every morning, oh! and she wants it before I let her out for her morning bathroom ritual outside.

During all of this I am having extreme pain just getting up and moving around, not to mention being as stiff as a board. I am not kidding when I say I have to force my joints to bend and move, that includes my fingers and toes. Excuse me, time to get a cup of coffee, be right back. Aaah! there is nothing like that first sip of steaming hot coffee, that, along with the wonderful aroma of freshly brewed coffee makes getting up and moving just a little easier to manage.

I remember as a child and a young man seeing my old relatives getting up and trying to move around. Most of them had twisted and swollen joints, especially in their hands and feet. Back in those days they didn't have the medications available today for reducing the pain and keeping the joints from swelling and twisting. Nor, did they have the pain medications that are available today.

I remember staying at my Aunt Jane's house one time when I went to see Grandma Winebrenner, I was sound asleep when something woke me up. When I got up to check, I find Aunt Jane up walking around. I asked her what was wrong and she told me that her arthritis was so bad that if she didn't get up about every two hours and move around she wouldn't be able to move at all. That was over 25 years ago, and I can now appreciate what she was going through.
I don't get up every 2 to 4 hours, but I sure have a hard time getting moving after sitting or laying around for a few hours.

Well God Bless us all.

Having to move at age 75.

Hello world,

Here it is March 12, 2011 and major forces are ravaging Japan. Earthquake, tsunami, and Nuclear Radiation Leaks. This is not a pretty picture. I really feel sorry for all of the people in Japan and around the world that have been killed, or injured in these disasters.

All of the above makes my plight seem miniscule by comparison.  Having moved into my apartment, and sort of settle into a camping mode, I am constantly plagued by abdominal pain and discomfort. I keep trying to maintain a positive attitude and eating right so as to stay out of the hospital or doctor's office. Especially since I have no transportation right now. I think that this condition is caused by the change in water, and by the change in location.

I am now calling Claudia or she is calling me and exchanging greetings and other light conversation, trying to keep each others spirits up.  What would we do without cell phone technology?

Some of the good things about my new location, my daughter and her family are much, much closer and since the landlady is actually Elizabeth's mother-in-law, I get to see my grandkids much more often. If nothing else, they keep me hopping.

Think I will stop for now. Thank you all for reading this.

Love the gahillbilly.
