A PLEASANT SOJOURN.

A PLEASANT SOJOURN.

Marjan invited me out to dinner today.

Today being Sunday October 30th, 2016.

Marjan, picked me up in her fancy Honda Pickup Truck and we went to the "Golden Corral" for dinner. We went dutch treat as we are each on a limited budget. I enjoyed having a very nice salad, plus steak, mashed potatoes with gravy and lima beans. Of course, iced tea is the choice of drink. Marjan's dinner choices were more eclectic than mine, but that is what making Golden Corral what it is, a place for multiple choices.

Since we both prefer having company while we eat, it made it very pleasurable. We avoided speaking about politics as we are on opposite sides. Otherwise we enjoy talking about a myriad of other subjects. Among other things we talked about attending Church today, and the impact of the new shopping center going in on the corner of Cobb Pkwy and Barrett Pkwy. Those roads are going to become gridlocked as a result.

Ah well! we enjoyed each other's company. She brought me home, said good night, and toodled on home.

Thank you God for friends.

Amen.  from the gahillbilly.

This Weeks Sojourn.

My weekly sojourn with my friend David.

In preface, David and I generally meet once a week on Thursday to have lunch and then attend a movie.
This weeks we went to the Waffle House near my house, and after a suitable repast headed off to see the movie "Bridge of Spies" with Tom Hanks and produced by Steven Spielberg.. For those that don't know, it takes place back in 1957, at which time I was still on active duty in the Army.

I have no idea how they were able to do so but the re-creation of the scenes from that time area were nothing short of miraculous. The acting was superb and very realistic indeed. For me and for David it brought back memories of the cold war and all of its fear and terror, due to the constant threat of a nuclear bombardment. The spy game for both Russia and the US was in full swing. How do I know? I was in the Army Security Agency and was actually privy to a great deal of very classified information.

To get back to the movie, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I highly recommend it to one and all. It is certainly worth the small cost to see it.

That's all for now.
God Bless from the gahillbilly.
