Over the years I have thought about gravity and what it is and what it does. In the September/October Issue of Science Illustrated there is an excellent article on the progression of discoveries concerning gravity that goes back 2000 years.
When I consider the progression of discoveries, both observational, and mathematical, it still comes down to the fact that we can't see or measure gravity. We can describe it mathematically and we can observe its' action on all things big and small. We call the force we can't see "gravitons" and they are weak according to our modern day physicists and mathematicians.
The National Science Foundation has founded the building of Laser Beam Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory(LIGO) in two locations, one in Washington State and the other in Louisiana. The hope to detect the movement of gravity waves caused by the movement of large objects in space.
I have done a great deal of thinking about gravity and it's affect on everything including our own cells. How else would we be kept down to earth? If you really think about it, at the speed at which the earth spins, everything on it should have been thrown out into space long, long ago.
Did you know that the earth's rotational speed at the equator is 1040.4 miles per hour.
Now add to this rotational speed, the speed at which the earth travels around the sun, which is approximately 66,600 miles per hour.
What is it about earth's makeup that allows it to keep a huge blanket of air and water above us and everything else locked down to the surface? Some say it is because the earths core is a huge molten ball of iron, nickel and other heavy metals. Scientist have mathematically proven that as the earth's core cools down, the gravitational force generated will drop dramatically.
For more detailed information on the earth, it's makeup, and much more; click on this link: http://www.enchantedlearning.com/subjects/astronomy/planets/earth/Inside.shtml
Now after all of this information, what am I leading up to? I am trying to figure out why we can't generate a counter force to gravity or what is also called anti-gravity.
Logically it follows that electromagnetic force and gravity are very similar and in fact interact with each other. So why can't we generate a localized electromagnetic force with a polarity opposite of the earths gravity, allowing us to then rise above the earth quietly and efficiently.
I suspect that gravity actually travels through space in an alternate dimension of some kind.
Currently we have a four dimensional continuum in which we must travel. But since we cannot directly see or measure gravity, I think it isn't in our four dimensional space. For a more concise and accurate discussion on four dimensional space click here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourth_dimension
Since we are unable at this time to measure or mathematically define the fifth dimension, we can't interact with it. I predict that a fifth dimension will be found along with a sixth, seventh, and eighth dimension. When we do so, we will then be able to travel across space in real time. Or as the science fiction writers call it FTL or Faster Then Light, or Hyper Space.
Oh! and by the way, anti-gravity and artificial gravity will become common place.
I would welcome anybodies comments.
God Bless us all,

I can tell you Gravity is STRONG at our house! Mom fell again today.
ReplyDeleteI have learned more about you reading your blog than I ever know before. You don't sound as uptight as you used to be but considering your first wife that's very understandable.
ReplyDeleteI just have a question How did CJ die?
