I didn't even make it home.

I didn't even make it home.

My car either loves me or hates me?

To say that I am upset right now is to put it mildly. Billy my mechanic calls to let me know my van is working fine after installing a new fuel pump. Billy then does me a favor by driving the van over to my house to pick me up. We drive back over to the dealership, where I drop him off at his truck and I had back towards home. Everything is fine and I am driving along fat, dumb, and happy. I decide to stop at the Publix Supermarket to pick up some Ice Cream. Returning to the van with my ice cream, I start up the car and as I always do I checked the brakes before moving and my foot goes all the way to the floor, so I checked and even though it still stops when I push the brake pedal all the way to the floor, I start out of the parking lot, while checking the brake action and I decide discretion is the better part of valor, so I pull over to the side of the parking lot and get out of the car. I pop the hood and check the master cylinder, it is still full. I kept smelling something very hot and like plastic melting. I look at the left front wheel and the wheel cover has a hole melted into it and the wheel cover is distorted all to hell. The wheel and wheel cover is too hot to touch.
At this point I call my friend Gerry and ask him to come get me. I also call Billy the mechanic and describe the problem to him. Neither of us has a clue as to why the wheel overheated so badly. Before you ask, no the car was not pulling one way or the other, so once again, I have no clue what the hell is wrong.

I guess I should be thankful that I stopped for ice cream when I did, allowing the failure to take place while I was stopped and not while I was on the highway tootaling along at 50 miles an hour, while trying to stop for a traffic light.

Damn, damn, and damn. Right now I could use a lot of prayers and a lot of money.
Once again, I shall overcome.
Blessings to everyone from the gahillbilly.
