A tribute to Claudia Winebrenner.

I am writing this tribute to my wife Claudia Winebrenner because she passed away September 1st, 2011. I had just returned home from the hospital after having major surgery for a blocked artery, when I received a call from my son-in-law informing me that the nursing home called and said we should get over there right away. By the time my daughter came to get me ,my car being in the shop, and drove us over to the nursing home, Claudia had already passed away.

Fortunately, Elizabeth had stopped by to see her mother that very morning just before coming to the hospital to pick me up. Elizabeth had just arrived home from work as she works from 10pm to 10am and so her schedule is upside down from most of us.

Claudia and I will have been married for 40 years come November 20th of this year. Claudia would have turned 67 on September 9th of this year.
I will miss Claudia as my wife, my lover, and my friend. She will also be missed as a mother, a daughter, a sister, and a grandmother.
Claudia was the strongest person I have ever known, bar none.  She not only survived polio as a child but thrived and went on to graduate from High School, and from College.

We met in California in 1970 and were married in 1971. Our daughter, Elizabeth was born in June of 1976 to the wonder of both Claudia and I.

I cannot stress how wonderful Claudia was at taking care of me and Elizabeth. No matter where we lived, Claudia made our home a wonderful place to be. She was a talented artist, musician, seamstress, friend and mother.

I believe that she is now at rest and free of pain, which she suffered terribly for the last 10 years.

God Bless her to eternal rest. Amen.
