YEP! I AM SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING GOING BACK TO WORK.
I'm thinking about it, returning to work that is. Yeah! Since having my knee replaced and am currently in the process of getting my teeth fixed, I am finding myself with lots of time on my hands. Yes there are several things I probably should be doing here at home, but how long will they really take to get done. The problem is what kind of work to go after. The majority of my experience is in the Engineering/Management field, primarily in the Manufacturing Sector. I also have extensive experience in the Quality Assurance Field. I am experienced in actually writing Quality Control Procedures, training personnel, and getting companies approved at various levels of Quality Control in accordance with QS9001 National competency level.
I am competent and experienced in the design of work stations for manufacturing operations, including but not limited to both stationary and assembly line processes. I have designed and built assembly fixtures, as well as test fixtures for building and testing printed circuit boards, monitors, printers, computers, power supplies, and several other electronic products.
I am familiar with many different manufacturing processes, such as; plastic molding, blow molding, extrusion molding, metal stamping, metal forming, die casting, circuit board manufacturing, integrated circuit manufacturing, transistor manufacturer, diodes, capacitors, and resistor manufacturing. I am also familiar with the manufacture of magnetic media.
I am familiar with, and experienced in calculating the life expectancy of complex electronic equipment, and have been instrumental in developing environmental and life testing procedures for all different types of electronic components.
I have worked on products and processes used in our Space Program back in the 1970's and 1980's. Some of those programs included, Voyager 1,Voyager 2, 1st Venus Flyby, 1st Mars Flyby, GPS Satellite 1 and 2, and the Atlas Missile program.
I have written several hundred MIL SPEC Procedures for the Department of Defense for leading edge electronic components used in various classified military satellite programs.
So! as you can see, I have a very diverse background in the electronics industry. The big problem today is how do I make use of it in today's job market.
Should any of my readers have any ideas, I'd love to hear from you.
God Bless us all. from the gahillbilly.
