I'M CELEBRATING MY 79th BIRTHDAY ON PRESIDENT'S DAY.
Having my birthday fall on President's Day this year is a singular honor. It doesn't happen very often. And no I'm not even going to try and figure out how many times it has happened in my life time.I look back to when I was born early in the last Century, 1936 to be exact, and I am now 15 years into the 21st Century. Wow! and again Wow!
I was born during the great depression. I am the first of 4 siblings. My brother is 3 years younger then I. My first sister was 8 years younger then I and my youngest sister is 14 years younger then I. My older sister passed away several years ago, may she rest in peace.
Both of my parents passed away several years ago, especially my mother who died at a very young age. I have also lost my wife Claudia of 40 years a little over 3 and a half years ago. Yes I still miss her.
On the up side, I have lived a very eventful life I am a Korean War Army Veteran. I worked for the Army Security Agency a total of 15 years, which includes the 3 years active duty.
I worked as an Electronics Engineer in the Electronics Industry(Computers, etc.) for 45 years, usually in the leading edge of electronics the entire time. I got out of the military and went into civilian life hoping to avoid the moving around involved with being an Army Brat.
Well, that didn't work out very well, I did as much or more traveling and moving in civilian life as I did as an Army Brat.
Looking back on my life as a youngster up until my 18th year, I had lived in 4 states, and one foreign country.
As I said above, I have lived a very eventful and a very fulfilling life. I have been married twice, and have 5 daughters, 8 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. My youngest daughter lives nearby, but the rest of them are scattered from coast to coast and border to border.
There is much to be thankful for with the availability of the internet, since I can keep in touch with family and friends via social media, and email. Thank God for the internet, since it is much cheaper then my Long Distance Phone bill used to be.
I give thanks for my life, and I especially give thanks to my Doctors that have kept me alive over the last 20 years.
God Bless you all from the GA hillbilly.

it wasn't called president's day until 1971, before that it was Washington's Birthday held on Feb. 22, they changed it to the third monday in Feb to honor the rest of the presidents but it was more to give Americans another 3day weekend, LOL so you didnt start having your Bday on Presidents day until after 1971 and then it would only fall on it every 5yrs. HAPPY BDAY!! Vic, your's is still more important than their's cuz we can still tell it to ya :)
