To see again.

Well folks, I am here to tell you that being able to see clearly, without glasses, without contacts, and withour kariotomety surgery is miraculous.
Back in December of 2005, I went to the opthamologist because I could no longer see to drive at night. In addition, the amount of light reaching my optic nerve was less then 50% of normal.
I kept putting in brighter and brighter light bulbs, and had to have lights on bright so that I could read. I wasn't able to see well, even with corrective lenses, because everything was still blurry.

The cataract surgery that I had performed is very well described in the above link. The operation was done as an outpatient, and I was able to see immediately after the operation was complete. I did not have to wear a patch on my eye. I was even able to drive the next day, without my glasses.
Now, I have been wearing glasses since I was about 12 years old. I was so nearsighted that my glasses looked like the bottom of old fashioned coke bottles. I reached for my glasses before I got out of bed, because I couldn't see the clock radio or anything else clearly. I kept a spare set of glasses on hand at all times, because if mine were broken I could not go anywhere to get new ones. I couldn't see to drive.

So one of my eyes was operated on about the 1st of December, the second on about the 15th of December.

Now I can see, I can see, I can see, I can see, without my glasses. I can see near and far. I can see the feathers on a bird in the tree. I can see the brilliant colors in the feathers on the birds. I can see the squirrels scampering all over my yard, in my trees, on my roof, and along the fence.
I can see, I can see, I can see.

I am happy, happy, happy.
If anyone were to ask me if it was worth getting the operations for cataracts, the simple answer is yes!!!!!!!!

If anybody has any questions, please feel free to ask me.

Have a wonderful day.
