Today I went to work at 9:00am and didn't leave until 6:00pm. What was I doing you ask. I was filling out income tax forms using the final paycheck of many, many individuals. The majority of these individuals were coming in to collect their Earned Income Credit money. Only part of this money is available in the form of a bank loan. Can you believe it, people are so anxious to get a hold of this Government Handout, that they will spend hundreds of dollars in bank fees. I do mean hundreds of dollars in bank fees. What is Earned Income Credit you ask. Well, it is a handout provide by congress to low income persons that have income from a job only, and usually have one or more children to claim as dependents. These dependent children are not necessarily their own, they may be nieces, nephews, cousins, or grandchildren. They may also be legally adopted children. Don't believe me, here is a link to the IRS'S site: http://search.irs.gov/web/query.html?col=allirs&charset=utf-8&qp=&qs=-Wct%3A%22Internal+Revenue+Manual%22&qc=&qm=0&rf=0&oq=&qt=earned+income+credit
just click on this link and it will take you directly to the IRS SITE where you will find definitions and tables of amounts of money given as refunds. This is in addition to any withholding they already have.
Oh yes! don't forget the child tax credit, yep you can get additional handouts from the government in the form of the child tax credit. Here is a link to the IRS SITE on this subject:
http://search.irs.gov/web/query.html?col=allirs&charset=utf-8&qp=&qs=-Wct%3A%22Internal+Revenue+Manual%22&qc=&qm=0&rf=0&oq=&qt=child+tax+credit&search.x=14&search.y=10
As if this isn't enough, there is a handout in cash called the Additional Child Tax Credit.
Another link to IRS SITE: http://search.irs.gov/web/query.html?col=allirs&charset=utf-8&qp=&qs=-Wct%3A%22Internal+Revenue+Manual%22&qc=&qm=0&rf=0&oq=&qt=additional+child+tax+credit
Want to know how much the EIC or CHILD TAX CREDIT is worth.

I will be happy to answer your questions if you wish to post them to my blog. In the meantime a very Happy New Year to all the handouts from the IRS.
