HOW TIME DOES FLY.

HOW TIME DOES FLY!

WHERE OH WHERE DOES THE TIME GO? THAT IS THE QUESTION!

I ask this question, because I am having an epiphany. It is the year 2014, and it is already May 6. Do you realize that it is almost six months into the year? That is we are in the fifth month and still I cannot believe it. My problem is that I am retired and have been since the year 2000, that's 14 years people. As time has gone by, I have gotten into the habit of telling myself, "I don't feel like doing that right now, I'll do it tomorrow."

Thinking back to when I was working, I didn't do that, I was always busy doing something. I actually planned out my all my activities. Since I had to earn a living, everything I planned had to be scheduled around my work schedule. Don't get me wrong on this, most of my jobs involved work that I enjoyed doing. In that instance, I was very fortunate. Briefly, for those that don't know, I spent virtually all of my working life in the electronics industry, usually on the manufacturing side of the business. I'm proud to say, that virtually all of it was in the leading edge, or if you will, in the most advanced technologies then extant.

As a result of my enjoyment in my work, I wasn't always the best of husbands and/or of a family man. I certainly regret that now. So I try to be more available to my family. Of course, with my family scattered all across the country, that isn't easy to do.

OK! I'm sorry, I digress, I started out talking about time flying and allowing myself to put things off or in other words procrastinate(now there is a big word). Everybody understands procrastination don't they? You just don't have the energy to do what you know needs doing, so you don't do it, tomorrow's soon enough.

Well guess what, maybe that isn't such a good thing. Here I am 78 years old, and I don't know how much longer I'm going to be around to either procrastinate or to get things done. For anybody that knows' me, I am a walking, living, breathing miracle. It is only by the skill of the my doctors, and the miracle of modern medicine that I'm still here to be writing this article.

I reckon it is time to get my ass in gear and get things done.

What do you think?

That's all for now. God Bless from the gahillbilly.
