ON GROWING OLD! AND ON KEEPING BUSY!
I have been thinking about growing old and what it takes to do so.
I have to preface this by mentioning that I am 82 years old, and it is miraculous that I am still alive. I wouldn't be if it weren't for the the skill of my doctors, plus modern medicine, and my own rather strong constitution.
I have written about previous medical episodes so I won't repeat them here, suffice it to say I'm glad I'm still here.
What is keeping me going is the fact that I keep busy doing something, whether it is the fact that I am working a part time job or participating in Church Activities, or doing something I enjoy doing.
Some of the things I enjoy doing include making wooden toys, reading novels including sci-fi, romance, fantasy, historical, and who-done-its. I also enjoy watching tv, especially on the new very large flat screen tv's.
More important than all of the above, is the fact that I am able to connect with all of my children thanks to the internet. I am also back in contact with various cousins, uncles, aunts, and neices and nephews.
All of this keeps me active and alert. Add in my attendance to going to the gym on a regular basis.
I thank God in the name of Jesus for all that I have, all that I am, and all that I can be. Amen.
Love from the GA hillbilly.
BTW I was not intending to be philosophical and I think I attained that goal.
